Buffet’s athlete analogy isn’t quite right.
A more accurate analogy: A drug dealer has overdosed, and needs someone to provide half their liver for a transplant to save his life. Maybe it is his own fault he overdosed, but if we save him at least he’ll still be around to sell more drugs in the future. And then as a kicker, we tell the donor the other half of his liver will eventually grow back anyway, so no big deal.
We need to look into rehab instead of protecting future drug use….
